Our wine and beer selection at the bar changes often, based on what what we’ve tried and liked lately, but is rooted in some basic yet important principles.

  • As with most things, less is more when making good wine and beer.

  • Wine, beer, and cider should have a sense of place. They should have a soul, and taste vibrant and alive. They should be rooted in history, but never rely solely on that as their main selling point.

  • Maine produces amazing beer, cider, and even wine! We try to feature makers from within Maine that are aligned with our philosophies. Some of our favorites in no particular order are: Oxbow, Foulmouthed, Austin Street, Mast Landing, Portersfield Cider, Whaleback Cider, Oyster River Winegrowers.

  • We want the beverages we serve to stand out and give you pause. Imbibing is an emotional experience, and therefore subjective. That is the beauty in well made food and drink. It can transport and transform. As MFK Fisher aptly said: “There is communion of more than our bodies when bread is broken, and wine is drunk.”
